The Causse Comtal, which is a huge calcareous plateau, has a steppe-like landscape where sometimes graze sheep from Lacaune, alternating with vast cultivated stretches of land.
The abrupt cornices that are on the edge of the plateau shelter the brown and ochre villages and dominate the hill slopes planted with vines. Lower down, the warm red sandstone of the “Rougier” (housing development) offers a sparkling spectacle. This is another picture of our region.
